BIOGRAPHY

Yeseniia Serdiuk was born in 2006 in Nikopol, a small city in southern Ukraine - a place of culture, filled with warmth, stories, and bright memories. When the war began in 2022 and Nikopol came under constant Russian attack - a reality that continues today - everything in her life shifted dramatically.

In March 2023 she relocated with her mother to Hull, England, leaving her family and home behind, first arriving as a refugee with barely any English. Even so, she carried with her memories, trauma - and a powerful urge to speak. What began as survival turned into creation: she first started expressing her experiences through painting and drawing. Over time, her practice evolved into making miniature models - personal, emotionally charged works shaped by the events she lived through. Her models reflect the harsh realities of war - how it affects, destroys, and kills, showing the true impact it has on people's daily life.

Since beginning her studies in Art, and later Fine Art, at Hull College, Yeseniia has been dedicated to developing her practice and intends to continue her degree further.

What started as quiet reflection and coping has become a strong creative voice - one rooted in pain, memory, resilience, and unflinching honesty. Today, she plays an active role within the art community, taking part in community-driven projects and exhibiting her work across the country.
